DO YOU BRING YOUr own sound equipment (e.g. SPEAKERS, MIXING BOARD, and POWER Supply)?
We can bring our own PA system (i.e., speakers) and mixing board, but we charge an additional fee to set that gear up and run our own sound. We expect you to provide power, which means access to an ample number of outlets.
What is a mixing board anyway?
A mixing board is the piece of equipment you use to adjust the relative volume levels between different instruments, which includes vocal microphones, guitars, synthesizers, and anything else that comes out through the speakers. If you've ever been to a live show, you've probably seen a person in a booth in the audience doing something with various knobs and sliders. This person is a live audio engineer, and they are balancing the instrument volumes coming out of the speakers so that things (hopefully) sound good to the audience. Ideally, you would hire an audio engineer for your event to manage our volume levels while we play. We can do this ourselves for an additional fee. It's a lot of work to be both the performer and the sound engineer!
HOW Much Space do you need?
We need at minimum a 20 x 10 rectangular plot. We don’t need an elevated surface, although it is nice to perform on a stage!
HOW LONG DO YOU PLAY?
We can play anywhere from 30 min to 2.5 hours. Our pricing depends on how long you want us to play. We like to take 15-20 min breaks every hour, if possible.
Can we request songs?
We are happy to share our setlist with you if you want to choose from what we already know. We will consider requests that are not on our list if given enough lead time, but aren’t always going to be able to do them.
Do We need a sound permit?
This depends on where your event will be. We recommend looking into a sound permit if you are planning to have your event at a private residence or in a public space.
How Loud are you?
We're loud. We perform with several guitars, multiple vocalists, synthesizers, and a drum set. We absolutely love performing live and it shows in our energy. If for any reason you are worried that we may be too loud for your space or audience, this may not be a good fit. Unfortunately, we do not accommodate requests to "turn down," mostly because volume levels start with the drummer, and it's not fun for drummers to have to hit their drums lightly so that the rest of the band can turn down their instruments :)
Are you Family-friendly?
Yes! Everything we perform is family-friendly. We also keep our stage banter age-appropriate.
Do you have insurance?
We can get a one-stop insurance policy for your event. We add this charge to the total price of your event.
Do you sell merchandise?
Yes! We sell t-shirts and CDs.
Do you take pictures?
Yes! We love taking pictures and are happy to hang out before and after our set.
Do you allow guest performers to join you for certain songs?
We are happy to try and make this work, but we require to have a rehearsal with any guest performers! Our renditions can be hard to jump into without live practice.
